Mass Communication: My Dream Career
My name is Adeniyi Alimot from Islamic Redeemers’ Model college. I am a native of Modakeke from Oke-Owu compound. I’m here to write an essay on my future career.
I have always been amazed by the power of words and stories. Seeing how a news report, a documentary, or even an advertisement can change people’s thoughts and connect them to the world inspires me. This interest has led me to dream of a career in mass communication—a field where I can share important stories, inspire others, and bring positive change to society.
My Future Vision
I see myself becoming a journalist who uses stories to connect with people, spread important information, and inspire action. My goal is to work in television or radio, telling stories that highlight important issues and give a voice to people who may not be heard. I want to inform and educate others, helping them understand the world better.
Steps to Achieve My Goal
To achieve this dream, I plan to work hard in school and focus on subjects that improve my communication skills, like English and literature. I will also take part in activities like debates, writing for the school magazine, and drama clubs to build my confidence and creativity.
After secondary school, I plan to study mass communication in university and look for internships with media companies. These internships will help me learn how to report news, create videos, and tell stories in interesting ways. I will also try to meet and learn from professionals in the media industry.
What Inspires Me
Growing up in a community where people often lack access to the right information has made me realize how important truthful news is. I love connecting with people and thinking critically about issues, which I believe are important skills for a journalist. Being involved in school leadership and volunteer work has taught me how to work with others and solve problems, while my love for reading and writing has deepened my passion for storytelling.
Facing Challenges and Giving Back to Society
I know the journey to becoming a journalist won’t be easy. In today’s world, fake news and mistrust in the media are big problems. However, I am determined to stay honest and truthful in my work. I will keep learning and improving to adapt to changes in the media world.
My dream is to use my skills to highlight important issues like education, poverty, and climate change. By doing this, I hope to make a difference in people’s lives and inspire others to care about the world around them.
Conclusion
Mass communication combines my love for storytelling with my desire to help others. With hard work, determination, and a strong purpose, I am ready to follow this dream. I believe I can overcome any challenges, leave a positive mark, and contribute to making the world a better place.
