The Modakeke Progressive International (MPI) in the United States of America (USA) has expressed joy over the confinement of the Member Officer of Niger (MON) on one of the illustrious sons of the ancient town of Modakeke and also the Deputy Comptroller General of Nigeria’s Customs, DCG Wale Adeniyi by President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside other prominent individuals.
The congratulatory message was contained in a press statement signed by the President of MPI, Alhaji Yemi Animasaun on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Alhaji Animasaun described the recognition of Adeniyi by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as an inspiring and motivating one for all sons and daughters of Modakeke across the globe.
According to the MPI president, he said, “for us at MPI, we received the nomination and confinement of the prestigious national award on one of our brothers, DCG Wale Adeniyi, with great happiness and enthusiasm”
“It’s a great privilege to have one of our own among other prominent personalities and global leaders in their various fields of human endeavors, it is a thing of joy that our brother, Wale Adeniyi, has once again shown to the world that we Modakekes are not only hardworking but very resilient”
“We congratulate him on this important achievement and for always showing to the world who truly we are despite many spirited efforts to paint us otherwise”
“We humbly appeal to our brethren across all the globe to learn greatly from the footprints of DCG Wale Adeniyi because he has shown the possibility that within that small space you are, you can conquer the world”
“We congratulate our Kabiyesi, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, and all the sons and daughters of Modakeke on this honour, the statement concluded.
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, conferred National Honours Awards on 447 recipients comprising Nigerians and non-Nigerians labelled “friends of Nigeria”.
The award investiture ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
It was reported that 5000 nominees were received by the federal government, but only 447 were selected for the awards.
DCG Wale Adeniyi was honoured alongside Ngosi Okonjo-Iweala, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan, and Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila among others.
