Essay
My future career is teaching. It is an act whereby a teacher conveys knowledge to students in a formal setting by employing a variety of methods and engaging them to enable the understanding and application of that acquired knowledge. Inspired by one of my old teachers in junior school, teaching has always been a big dream for me. Teaching is a profession that requires a very deep passion for it as the future of either a family, community or nation greatly depends on the present attitudes of the teachers.
Years from now, as an English lecturer at a prestigious university, I want to make a huge impact on the Nigerian Education system as I plan to provide not only knowledge but also guidance to my students and maintaining good relationship with them. Students are capable of achieving unimaginable success even at a very young age if they have someone who is willing to guide them on the right track.
I have known for a fact that students with a closer relationship with their teachers tend to be more academically successful. And for this reason, I plan to build a good relationship with all my students to boost academic performance and encourage fellow teachers or lecturers to do the same.
