My name is Amusan Oluwaseyitan Joshua, an SSS3 student of Royal Comprehensive High School.
The subject of career choice is indeed a big question for most students. Though parents, guardians and teachers may try their best to guide us, I believe the bulk of the work still lies in the child’s hands.
As a child, I always loved to work with computers. It’s always been my dream to study Engineering, though I wasn’t sure which aspect of it. Growing up, I streamlined my options to Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Systems Engineering. However, I made the decision recently to go into Computer Engineering. I believe it better captures my dream and passion.
I started learning Computer Programming some two years ago and I intend to delve fully into it after my exams and also apply to study Computer Engineering at the University of Lagos. God willing, it’s going to be a dream come true. I’m willing to put in the work to take my career development a step further.
Ten years from now, I see myself as a successful software developer working with a big tech company.
The tech industry is a very vast one, I see it as a platform to develop my passion and contribute to humanity in solving real–life problems. I believe there are talents yet uncovered in this part of the world. Hence, it is an opportunity to give back first, to my hometown, Modakeke and in the long run, to the larger society.
