October 12, 2022The Modakeke Progressive International, USA has congratulated the newly appointed MTN Nigeria CEO, Karl Toriola, describing the appointment of the telecommunication guru as a very deserving one.
In a congratulatory statement issued by the National President of the group, Alhaji Yemi Animashaun, on behalf of the group lauded Karl Olutokun for being a great ambassador for all the sons and daughters of Modakeke both at home and in the diaspora.
The statement reads” on-behalf of Modakeke Progressive International, USA we rejoice with our compatriot and brother, Karl Olutoun Toriola, on his new appointment as the CEO of the telecommunication giant, MTN Nigeria”

It will be recalled that on Monday 26th October, 2020 MTN Group announced the appointment of Karl Toriola as the CEO of MTN Nigeria, effective from 1 March 2021. Toriola, current vice president for MTN Group’s West and Central Africa (WECA) region, will take over as MTN Nigeria CEO from Ferdi Moolman, who has served in this role for the past five years.
Toriola has a BSc Hons in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He also possesses MSc in Communication Systems.
In his five years as VP of MTN’s WECA region, Toriola has overseen the steady progress of the operating companies in the region, notably the turnaround of MTN Ivory Coast and MTN Cameroon over the past two years, the operator said.
Since joining the group in 2006, Toriola has also held several senior operational roles at MTN, including a chief technical officer of MTN Nigeria and CEO of MTN Cameroon.
Toriola is an indigene of Modakeke whose father is the current Otun Balogun of the ancient town in South Western, Nigeria.

Glory be to God for this Great achievement of one of us. God will continue to elevate our home land Modakeke Akoraye to the Greatest Height in Jesus name.
This is heartwarming and a thing of pride for Akoraye home and abroad.
It should be used as a case study to motivate and challenge our youths and young ones especially in the midst of social vices that is drawing them away from education and other time tested routes that made our parent successful.
